Victoria Peak - Hong Kong

Hong Kong Skyline from Victoria PeakHong Kong is a vibrant city. One of the best experiences is to view this compact city from the top of Victoria Peak. The view is spectacular by both day and night. The peak is serviced by the Peak Tram accessible from Central MTR station. The Peak Tram, however, is not accessible to people using a wheelchair independently. The alternative way to the top is via bus 15 from either the Star Ferry Terminal at Central or the Central Bus Exchange. Each bus has one wheelchair accessible position.
Caution: The official Hong Kong Tourism site states that the Peak Tram is accessible to people using a wheelchair, however, all chairs must be of the folding type and the passenger will be physically carried on board the tram by the tramway staff followed by the folded chair. There is no provision to ride the tram while remaining in your chair

Once at the bus terminal follow the path around the outside of the building to the main plaza area. The entrance to the Sky Terrace building is on the opposite site and accessible via a short ramp to the right of the main doors. The doors are manual but reasonably light. After the first set of shops the ticket counter for the Sky Terrace is immediately on the left. An elevator services the Sky Terrace and the attendants will arrange for its use as it bypasses the ticket entrance gate. All areas of the Sky Terrace are accessible once on the top and it affords a great view of the city by both day and night.
